Native American people are especially suffering during the pandemic. Many have died, at much higher, heartbreaking rates than the rest of the population. At Morongo Reservation this week, our Elder, Ernest Siva (Cahuilla-Serrano), president of Dorothy Ramon Learning Center and also Morongo Reservation’s tribal historian and cultural adviser, and his wife, June, received their first round of the Moderna vaccine against COVID-19.
We share this news with hope and encouragement for everyone’s health, and continued strength and resiliency.
